At Sand & Stars, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where they can grow, learn and flourish. Formally known as Little Treasures childcare, our rebranding reflects our commitment to offering a bespoke approach to childcare that caters to the unique needs and potential of each child. Our new name symbolises the endless opportunities we provide- much like the stars in the sky and the sand beneath their feet.

About Me
Hi, I'm Uzma Ahmad, a proud mum of two wonderful girls and a dedicated childminder with over 12 years of experience. Working with children and supporting families has always been my passion. I love creating a nurturing environment where little ones can thrive and helping parents navigate the ups and downs of family life.
Throughout my time as a childminder provider, I have had the privilege of caring for over 200 families, each with their own unique journey. I am also responsible for providing support and guidance to my amazing team, who share my passion and bring their own unique skills and interests. Our staff have joined us from a range of backgrounds, which only enhances the service we provide, ensuring a diverse and well rounded approach to childcare.
I have a vested interest in helping shape the next generation of children and parents by sharing the knowledge and expertise I have gained over the years. By fostering strong foundations in early childhood, I hope to empower both children and their families with confidence, skills, and a love for learning.
I am proud that as a team, we have a combined specialism in a wide range of child related issues, including speech and language delays, Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory processing issues, picky eating, anxiety, low self esteem, attachment and separation anxiety , behavioural challenges and social difficulties. We also provide support for children facing problems relating to bullying, screen time, sleep disorders and unhealthy lifestyles. Addressing these concerns ensures that every child receives the individual care, guidance, and encouragement they need to thrive.
I'm excited about the transition from Little Treasures to Sand & Stars, as it marks a new direction for growth. This change allows us to continue providing a caring, nurturing, and exciting space with plenty of outdoor opportunities, alongside a safe and supportive environment for all children.
Our growth is thanks to the wonderful families we cater for, where the journey often begins with a baby in a car seat and continues as parents choose the schools we serve through our afterschool clubs. But we don't stop there, our minibus allows us to get out and about, making the most of the beautiful county we live in. We take advantage of a wide range of community projects and open spaces, ensuring children have enriching experiences beyond our setting.
Over the years, I've built strong connections within the community, working closely with fellow childminders, primary schools, and Kent local authority. These relationships ensure that the families I support always have access to up to date information, from government guidance to best practices.
