About Us
Our story
The heart and soul of Sand & Stars is Uzma, the proprietor, who initially worked as a communications manager in the city. However, after the birth of her first child, Uzma decided to change career paths and registered as a childminder in 2011. What started as a passion for caring for children quickly expanded into something greater.
Having moved from London to Sheppey, Uzma expanded her services to include afterschool provision for over five schools on the island.
Today, Sand & Stars is proud to provide afterschool clubs at Minster in Sheppey School and Halfway houses school. Our afterschool programmes are highly sought after, with schools reaching out to to us to offer safe, fun, and enriching experiences for students. Additionally we operate a Holiday club, where children are given the chance to go on memorable trips while building friendships and exploring new experiences, all made possible by our dedicated minibus service.
