Apprenticeship Opportunity – Early Years Practitioner

  

Location: Sand & Stars Ltd, Minster on Sea

Hours: Term-time only, 8:00am-2:30-3:00pm (negotiable)

Salary: National Apprenticeship Wage (in line with government rates)

About Us

At Sand & Stars Ltd, we are passionate about supporting children’s development from babies through to primary school age. We provide high-quality early years care, wraparound services, and holiday clubs, creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive and families feel supported.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting children’s learning and development through play and planned activities.
• Caring for children aged 0–11 years, including babies and preschoolers.
• Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
• Building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Supporting daily routines such as mealtimes, personal care, and transitions.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from:
- Experienced candidates who have worked in early years or childcare and want to gain a formal qualification while developing their career.
- Motivated people with a genuine passion for working with children and a strong CV showing commitment and reliability.

This opportunity may suit someone who is looking to retrain or gain a qualification alongside other commitments

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those looking to gain a qualification later in their career. 

Essential qualities:

• A caring, patient, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliability and a commitment to safeguarding children.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Preferred but not essential:

• DBS check already in place (or signed up to the DBS Update Service).
• Paediatric First Aid qualification – or willingness to complete training, which we will support.
• Previous experience in an early years or childcare setting.

Hours & Commitment

• Term-time only – no work required during school holidays.
• Daily hours: 8:00am – 2:30/3:00pm (negotiable).
• Apprenticeship includes on-the-job training and dedicated study time for qualification work.

Salary & Benefits

• Paid at the National Apprenticeship Wage, in line with government guidelines.
• Opportunity to gain a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification while earning.
• Support with paediatric first aid training and DBS processing, if required.
• Work in a supportive, family-focused environment with future career progression opportunities.
